The Ultimate Fun-Time Band

October 6 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

$18 - $23

Ultimate fun-time band, Kollections, takes over Circle Theatre

Turning the ordinary into true celebrations, The Kollections is a dance/rock/party band playing concerts around the South West Florida area. The five-year-old band plays an expansive range of musical styles, including rock, Motown, island, disco, ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s and hits from today. The Kollections take prides on being able to play a wide variety of the most popular proven dance/rock/party music and keep our volume controlled. We play the songs that keep the crowd dancing and our clients pleased.

Vocalist and guitarist, Pierre Hilaire, fronts the band. The New York native went to a music school where he learned theory and basic techniques for playing the guitar. “After each lesson, my guitar teacher would show off playing riffs for the students. I would come back the next week and play exactly what he had played. He was upset, and totally discouraged me from continuing,” Hilaire said. “I quit the school.” Hilaire went on to master the guitar on his own as well as other instruments. Hilaire has a doctorate in education, and is a behavior intervention analyst for the DeSoto County School District, and president of Eyas Corporation, a charitable trust that operates group homes for developmentally disabled adults.

Guitarist Wayne Onofri’s passion for music spans over 40 years. He started playing guitar at age 13, and formed his first band at age 15. Originally from Syracuse, NY, he has called Punta Gorda his home since the mid-1970s. After retiring as Assistant Administrator for DeSoto County School District, Onofri and his son opened City Vapor and E-Cigs III in Arcadia. “I’ve never considered myself as a professional musician,” Onofri said, “but I just love to play and have fun.”

Another New York native, Mark Taylor plays drums; he has played rock and roll and Motown show bands throughout the east coast. He has performed at the Myrtle Beach Main Stage and Busch Gardens. Taylor revels in playing a variety of styles, and he is a huge complement to the bands unique sound.

The “madman” of the group, Paul Seusy plays bass and stars as the official dancer of the group. With his bizarre dance moves he puts together the grooviest, funkiest sounds possible. “We don’t let him play his instrument with a pick because he would probably hurt himself with it,” said Hilaire. The newest member of the band, Patrick Hilaire, is Pierre’s son and also a multi-instrumentalist. Growing up in his dad’s studio, he plays bass, electric guitar, keyboard and sings.

The Kollections is playing October 6th at the Circle Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., showtime at 7:30 p.m. Section one reserved seating is $23, section two is $21 and general admission is $18.
