Sun Events and Champion for Children Foundation partner to bring monthly entertainment to downtown Sebring

By Daniel Sutphin, Sun Events Staff Writer

Sun Events has partnered with the Champion for Children Foundation of Highlands County to bring entertainment to The Circle Theatre in historic downtown Sebring the first Friday of every month, with exception to December 2017.

The Champion for Children Foundation provides abuse and neglect prevention and early intervention programs and services to children and families, amongst many other valuable resources. The organization opened the Highlands County chapter in 1994. In April 2011, the Champion for Children Foundation purchased the Circle Theatre as a new initiative to actively support local children’s art programs and enhance joy through family-friendly productions.

Florida-native Dave Feder kicks off the monthly event series August 4, 2017 playing a signature blend of Flamenco-infused Folk music. He’s won the praise of many, including Jimmy Buffet, who called the guitarist a “Florida treasure”, and National Public Radio.

“David has a magic way of making you feel like an old friend with songs that are original and intimate,” said Michael Stock, NPR. “He is a master guitarist who plays his own intricate Flamenco influenced finger-style music with a laid back island feel.”

Nashville recording artist and local sensation, Caitlin Sinness, will open the show at 7:30 p.m. Caitlin recorded her first album Up, at age 11. Now she’s 15 and attends Sebring High School here in Highlands County. Besides her music, she is very involved in her schools JROTC program, and after high school will be protecting her country by enlisting in the military.

The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with Feder to headline at 8 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online at Sunevents.com, over the phone at (863) 494-9362 or at the Circle Theater Wednesday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Circle Theater is located at 202 Circle Park Drive in Sebring, Fla.
