Paisley Craze revives British invasion at Circle Theatre

By Daniel Sutphin, Sun Events Writer

The British invade again — as a retrospective — when Paisley Craze takes the stage.  The five-piece cover band will perform the ultimate ‘60s party in concert at Circle Theatre in Sebring, Fla. on September 1. The concert is presented by Sun Events and Champion for Children.

Covering British and also American bands from the 1960s, Paisley Craze revives the decade’s worth of song as audiences relive the golden era of music. They perform everything from the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Animals to the Beach Boys, the Monkees and the Young Rascals, as well as psychedelic rock of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jefferson Airplane and Motown greats like Diana Ross and the Supremes, Aretha Franklin, and Smokey Robinson and the Miracles.

Donna Lamoureaux fronts the band, performing lead vocals and flute. Also on vocals, band leader Marty Bednar’s specialty is NOT specializing in any one style. Instead, he considers himself a player able to fill the bill in almost any bass playing scenario.

Dave Mankes plays multiple instruments — keyboards, guitar and vocals —and brings his own unique energy to the stage. Rich McDonald plays the drums, keeping everyone in the groove, and Bob Deilman rounds out the group on guitar and vocals.

Local talent Christine Flowers will open the concert. At age 19, the singer/songwriter says she has been singing all of her life.

“I don’t where I would be without music; who I would be,” said Flowers. “Without the support of my family and my friends, I don’t know if I would have stayed on this path. At the end of the day, I am glad to have become the musician I am.”
